  1. A Day In The Life Project Presentations

    Learning Objectives:

A4.4 Analyze the relationship between the artist, artistic product and audience in both an existing and self-generated project.

You will be presenting your "Day in the Life" projects today. I look forward to seeing your work!

In place of a formal critique, you will be required to ask one question to one presenter for participation points. Ask relevant and polite questions that pertain to their slideshow.

  2. Digital Collage

Today is the last day I'll accept your digital collage. Please turn it in so I can print it out and show off your work!

Texture plays a crucial role in photographic composition, as it adds depth, interest, and emotion to an image. By focusing on texture, photographers can transform ordinary scenes into visually captivating works of art. To capture texture effectively, one must pay attention to light and shadow, as these elements can enhance the details of surfaces such as rough bark, smooth water, or soft fabric. Using side lighting or backlighting can help highlight textures, making them more prominent and engaging. Additionally, varying the perspective—from close-up shots to wider views—can reveal unique textures that may not be noticeable from a distance. Ultimately, incorporating texture in photography not only draws the viewer's eye but also evokes a sensory experience, inviting them to feel the image rather than just see it.
