4. Ansel Adams Assignment in Schoology

Watch the video located in the Spitball assignment on Ansel Adams. Complete the Google Form as you watch. Take it as many times as you need to in order to get a perfect score (9 points).

5. Dodge and Burn Edits

Download the four photos located in Schoology under the assignment "Dodge and Burn Edits." During this edit, we'll be lightening (dodge) and darkening (burn) aspects of this image in black and white, similar to an Ansel Adams image. You'll need to understand these three terms:

Highlights: Lighter tones within an image

Mid-tones: Tones that fall between highlights and shadows.

Shadows: Darker tones within an image.

Contrast: Contrast is the range of brightness, from lightest to darkest, in an image. A high-contrast image will have very bright highlights and very dark shadows. Sometimes an image's highlights may be almost pure white, or the shadows may be almost pure black: high contrast.
