  3. Focal Length

    Field of View:

    • Wide-Angle Lenses (Short Focal Length): Lenses with shorter focal lengths, such as 10mm to 35mm, capture a wider field of view, making them ideal for landscapes, architecture, and interiors.

    • Standard Lenses (Medium Focal Length): Lenses around 50mm (on a full-frame camera) provide a natural perspective that closely resembles the human eye's field of view.

    • Telephoto Lenses (Long Focal Length): Lenses with longer focal lengths, such as 70mm to 300mm or more, have a narrower field of view, making them ideal for capturing distant subjects like wildlife or sports.

    Today you'll be experimenting with our new telephoto lenses so that you can decide if you'd like to use them next week on our field trip.
