  1. Check your Macbooks!

We're going to try, once again to get on to Photoshop for my return students. If you were not here last year, you will not have Photoshop for another week or so.

Shutterpeed-Shutter speed in photography is the length of time a camera's shutter stays open when taking a photo.

How is it measured?

Aperture-

Aperture is the adjustable opening in a camera lens that controls how much light enters the camera and hits the image sensor. It's a key part of the exposure triangle, along with ISO and shutter speed. Aperture affects the brightness of the image and the depth of field, which is how clear or blurry certain parts of the photo are

Is a 2.5 fstop a small aperture (lens opening) or a large aperture?

ree

ISO-

ISO is a numerical value that represents a camera's sensitivity to light, with higher numbers indicating greater sensitivity and the ability to capture more light

What ISO would you use on a dark night when shooting the stars?

Outdoor stations:

  1. Water Toss

Toss a cup of water and capture the water mid-air. You'll need to adjust your shutterspeed for sharpness while also adjusting your aperture and ISO to adjust the brightness. (You do not need to have a model in the shot.)

Drop the cards and capture a sharp shot of them falling.

3. Tumbling Castle

Use the blocks to dump over one of your group members. Your model should be still while the blocks drop, and a fast shutterspeed should capture a sharp image of the blocks falling.
