   Abstract photography is a creative style that focuses on capturing images that do not represent recognizable subjects or scenes. Instead of portraying a clear picture, it emphasizes shapes, colors, textures, and patterns, allowing viewers to interpret the artwork in their own unique ways. This form of photography encourages experimentation and imagination, as photographers often manipulate light, angles, and composition to evoke emotions or convey concepts rather than depict reality. Why oil and water?

Oil and water create striking abstract patterns because they are made of molecules with different properties. Water molecules are polar, meaning they have a positive and negative side, which causes them to attract and bond with other water molecules. Oil molecules are nonpolar, meaning they do not have charged sides and therefore cannot mix with water. This difference in molecular structure leads to a phenomenon known as polarity, which explains why oil and water repel each other and form separate layers or droplets. The resulting shapes, bubbles, and movement in the photographs visually represent the effects of immiscibility, when two liquids cannot mix together.
